Salary Of Small Madrasah Teachers, Pramono Promises To Create A Derivative Regional Regulation Of The Islamic Boarding School Law

JAKARTA - Candidate Governor number 3 Pramono Anung admitted that he would draft a regional regulation (perda) as a derivative regulation of Law Number 18 of 2019 concerning Islamic Boarding Schools.

This was revealed when Pramono and the candidate for Deputy Governor Rano Karno met with Rais Syuriah PWNU DKI Jakarta, KH Muhyidin Ishaq.

Initially, Muhyidin asked the candidate pairs (paslon) promoted by PDIP and Hanura to prioritize taking sides with the education sector if they were elected in the 2024 Pilkada.

"Regarding education issues, whether formal education in Jakarta is managed by private or informal ones like this pesantren. I think later he, Mas Pram, can realize a form of partiality to the world of education with religious nuances," said Muhyidin in Cilandak, South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 9.

To Pramono and Rano, Muhyidin revealed that the salaries of honorary teachers in madrasas or Islamic schools are very low, even below the provincial minimum wage (UMP) of DKI Jakarta.

"Madrasah has teachers whose salaries are still Rp 1.5 million. What about it? In Jakarta it is less than that. I think hopefully in his hands this madrasa madrasa can be a sign of life," he said.

Responding to this, Pramono promised to show partiality to the education staff of religious schools. The first step that will be taken is to issue a derivative regulation of the Islamic Boarding School Law.

"With the law regarding Islamic boarding schools, then there is also a Presidential Decree, to this day there is no governor's regulation or regional regulation that regulates that if there is funding for Islamic boarding schools and schools, there is an umbrella. So far, there is no umbrella," explained Pramono.

"So that if we do get this mandate, we will initiate it because it is frankly the law regarding Islamic boarding schools and also the Perpres, I am the one who prepared the section," he continued.
