Alexander Marwata Examined By Polda Regarding Meeting With Ex-Head Of Yogyakarta Customs Friday 11 October

Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata is scheduled to undergo an investigation regarding alleged violations of the meeting with litigants, namely the former Head of Yogyakarta Customs Eko Darmanto at Polda Metro Jaya.

Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak said investigators had scheduled an examination of Alexander Marwata on Friday, October 11.

"The agenda for requesting information or clarification of Alex Marwata's brother has been scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2024," said Ade in his statement, Tuesday, October 8.

In the invitation letter for the examination sent today, Alexander Marwata is planned to testify as a witness at 09.00 WIB.

In addition, in investigating the case, investigators have also examined other witnesses. To date, 23 people have been questioned.

Including Eko Darmanto, who is known to have been convicted in a case of gratification and money laundering (TPPU).

"Brother Eko Darmanto or the Head of Yogyakarta Customs and Excise has been clarified twice," he said.

Currently, continued Ade, investigation efforts are still being carried out in order to determine whether there is a criminal element in the report that makes Alexander Marwata a reported person.

"We make sure that the handling of the a quo case currently being carried out by the investigation team of the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya will run professionally, transparently and accountably," said Ade.

Meanwhile, the alleged criminal act committed by Alexander Marwata is a direct or indirect relationship committed by the KPK leadership with a suspect or other party who is related to a corruption case handled by an anti-corruption agency.

Alexander Marwata is said to have met Eko Darmanto in March 2023.

During the meeting, the KPK was investigating Eko Darmanto in a case of alleged gratification and money laundering (TPPU).
