In The Aftermath Of OTT, South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor Becomes A Suspect

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officially announced seven suspects after holding a hand arrest operation (OTT) within the South Kalimantan Provincial Government on Sunday, October 4 evening. One of them is the Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor or familiarly called Uncle Birin.

"Sufficient preliminary evidence has been found related to allegations of corruption in the form of receiving gifts or promises by state officials or those representing them in South Kalimantan Province in 2024-2025," said KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, October 8.

Apart from Sahbirin, other suspects were also named SOL as the Head of PUPR for South Kalimantan Province, YUL as the Head of Cipta Karya as well as PPK, AMD as the manager of the Tahfidz Darussalam House, and FEB as the Acting Head of the Household of the Governor of South Kalimantan. The five are recipients.

While the givers are YUD and AND who are private parties, said Ghufron. It is suspected that there was a gift from both of them after obtaining the project with details:

Currently, Sahbirin is still not in custody. Only six suspects are officially wearing orante vests, namely SOL, YUL, AMD, FEB, YUD, and AND.

"Until now, investigators are still trying to secure other parties responsible for this criminal incident," he concluded.
