Minimarket Robbers In Sukabumi Police Shot Through The Roof

JAKARTA - Personnel from the Sukabumi Police's Detective and Criminal Unit (Reskrim) shot two of the five gang of minimarket robbers for resisting and trying to run away when officers were about to arrest them.

"We have arrested the suspects in Cibadak Subdistrict, Sukabumi Regency, West Java. We have arrested five perpetrators. However, two of them had to be paralyzed with hot lead because they fought and tried to run away when they were arrested," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sukabumi Police, AKP Rizka Fadilah. by phone, Saturday.

The main perpetrators, he said, were three people, while the other two suspects were collectors of the stolen loot. They are currently detained.

This arrest began with the arrest of one of the suspects in Cibadak sub-district on March 24, 2021. Not long after, another suspect was arrested.

Firm and measured action against the two suspects, he continued, was because several warnings were given but they still tried to escape, even fought back and wanted to harm the officers so that the hot lead of the officers lodged in the calves of the two perpetrators.

Until now, his party is still developing an investigation into the case by asking for information from the suspects, whether there are other suspects in the minimarket burglary.

He said that their arrests began with reports of burglaries in minimarkets in Bojongkopo, Simpenan District, Ciparay minimarkets, Jampang Kulon, and Tenjoayu, Cicurug District. After developing an investigation, the police arrested them.

"We are still hunting down other perpetrators who are still in the same group as the suspect," he said.

Their mode of breaking into the minimarket is first stalking, then breaking through the roof so they can enter the minimarket.

Rizka said that it was possible that the perpetrators carried out the action outside the jurisdiction of the Sukabumi Police.
