Puan Please Change Official Houses To Beneficial Allowances For Members Of The DPR

JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani assessed that changing official house allowances to allowances in the form of cash would be more effective. He hopes that the replacement can be useful for members of the DPR.

"God willing, it will be effective, because we really hope that it can be useful for the members," said Puan, Monday, October 7.

If there are members of the DPR who already have a private house in Jakarta, Puan assesses that the allowance is one of the facilities.

"Yes, every member has also the right and obligation to be able to later facilitate if there are constituents or then there are people from electoral districts who come, etc.," said the chairman of the PDIP DPP.

Previously, the Secretary General (Secretary General) of the DPRIndra Iskandar revealed that the reason for the allowance for official housing for DPR members was removed because conditions were no longer livable.

The allowance was changed to money per month with a nominal price range or three-room house rental in the Senayan, Semanggi, and Kebayoran Baru areas.

"The point is that the official house is no longer economical as a residence. Besides what, most of it is in quite a severe condition," said Indra.

According to him, if the official residence is still used, there will be a lot of maintenance costs to be incurred. Indra said that some members of the DPR had used personal money for the maintenance of official housing.

"Economically, if it is maintained, there are indeed a lot of maintenance costs that must be incurred for a house that deserves to be inhabited because it remembers its age," he explained.

Indra said the official residence would be returned to the state. Currently, his party is processing the return documents to be submitted to the Ministry of State Secretary and Ministry of Finance.
