Palm Beach Airport Officially Changes Its Name to Donald J. Trump

JAKARTA - Palm Beach International Airport in Florida has officially changed its name in honor of US President Donald Trump.

"Palm Beach International Airport has officially changed its name to President Donald J. Trump International Airport. Although travelers will begin to see updates on signage and branding as the transition process progresses, the flight experience itself will remain the same," the airport wrote in a statement on social media. reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, July 10.

The airport will continue to use the PBI flight code until August 18, before it is officially registered under the DJT (Donald J. Trump) designation code.

In a separate statement, the airport also appealed to visitors about changes in the physical appearance of the airport and their digital assets in the future, but ensured that passenger comfort would remain the top priority.

Trump's son, Eric, then said Trump's Boeing 757 plane, nicknamed Trump Force One, was the first plane to land at the airport after the official name change was made.

"I am honored that at 5:01 a.m. (16:01 WIB), Trump Force One will be the first plane to land at the new Palm Beach International Airport - which is now and forever the President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT)," wrote Eric Trump on the X platform.

At the end of March, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had signed a law to change the name of the airport located in Trump's residence.

Trump's luxury home, Mar-a-Lago, is located not far from the airport in Palm Beach.

Earlier this year, a highway connecting the airport to Mar-a-Lago was also named after Trump.

In addition, the US Institute of Peace (USIP) and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts have changed their names to use Trump's name.
