A Year Of War In Gaza, Israel Bombs 40K Targets, Kills Hundreds Of Militant Commanders

JAKARTA - In the past year in the Gaza Strip, Israel bombed more than 40,000 targets, found 4,700 tunnels and destroyed 1,000 rocket launcher locations.

The Israeli military (IDF) said 726 Israeli soldiers had been killed since October 7, 2023. Of these, 380 were killed in the October 7 and 346 attacks in fighting in Gaza from 27 October 2023.

As reported by Reuters on Monday, October 7, there have been 4,576 injured troops since that date. Fifty-six soldiers died as a result of an operational accident, which the military did not explain.

In data to mark the October 7 commemoration, the Israeli military said it had registered 300,000 reserve troops since the start of the 82 percent male and 18 percent female war. Nearly half of them are 20 to 29 years old.

Since the start of the war, 13,200 rockets have been fired at Israel from Gaza. A total of 12,400 other bullets were fired from Lebanon, while 60 bullets came from Syria, 180 bullets from Yemen, and 400 bullets from Iran, the military said.

The Israeli military killed more than 800 so-called terrorists, of which 4,900 targets were attacked from the air and about 6,000 ground targets.

Over the past year, Israel has arrested more than 5,000 suspects in the West Bank and Jordan Valley.

Israel killed eight commanders of Gaza militant brigades, about 30 battalion commanders and 165 company commanders over the past year.

The war in Gaza was triggered when Palestinian Hamas militants attacked southern Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1,200 people and holding about 250 people hostage, according to Israeli tallies. More than 100 hostages are still being held by Hamas.
