KKP Stop Operational Two Morowali Mining Companies

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has stopped sea space utilization activities by two mining companies on the coast of North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi Province.

The Director General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP), Pung Nugroho Saksono, explained that his party found indications of violations of sea space utilization.

Ipunk said, as Pung is familiarly called, there were at least 2,26660 hectares of jetty construction activities belonging to CV RU and 0.96859 hectares belonging to CV SAP which were not equipped with documents on the Approval of the Compliance of Marine Spatial Utilization Activities (PKKPRL) and Business Licensing. We made a Government Force in the form of sealing at the special terminal construction business site (Tersus) in North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi," said Ipunk quoted on Saturday, November 16.

Ipunk said this was based on an investigation based on Marine Intelligence (Marine Intelligence) conducted by the Special Police for Coastal and Small Islands Management (PWP3K Police) Pangkalan PSDKP Bitung.

"It is true that we stopped the reclamation activity to stop violations and forced the company to fulfill its obligations by taking care of PKKPRL and Business Licensing," said Ipunk.

Ipunk explained that sealing the use of sea space without permission is one of the law enforcement efforts related to one of the KKP's blue economy priority programs to make ecology the commander in chief.

This action is also based on the Job Creation Law, PP 21/2021 concerning the Implementation of Spatial Planning, and PP No.27/2021 concerning the Implementation of the Marine and Fisheries Sector, then related to the implementation of administrative sanctions, namely Permen KP 31/2021 and PP 85/2021.

For this reason, continued Ipunk, his party continues to encourage the PWP3K Police of the Directorate General of PSDKP to ensure that sea space utilization activities in their working areas comply with applicable regulations so as not to threaten the sustainability of marine and fishery resources.
