Early Weather Monday 7 October, Jakarta Cloudy All Day

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that some areas of Jakarta will experience thick cloudy weather conditions on Monday, October 7 afternoon.

Heavy cloudy weather on Monday afternoon occurred in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands Regency. Meanwhile, East Jakarta is slightly different, namely cloudy weather occurs during the day.

Light rain is predicted to occur on Monday afternoon in South Jakarta while other areas remain thick cloudy.

Moving on at night, a number of areas experience cloudy weather such as West Jakarta, South Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands. Meanwhile, East Jakarta and Central Jakarta experience sunny cloudy weather in the evening.

On Monday morning, some areas in DKI Jakarta experienced thick cloudy weather such as South Jakarta, East Jakarta and the Thousand Islands. Meanwhile, in North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and West Jakarta, the weather conditions were cloudy on Monday morning.

Temperatures in DKI Jakarta are estimated to range from 23 to 33 degrees Celsius. BMKG also stated that wind speeds range from 2-14 kilometers (km) per hour.

The DKI Jakarta BPBD stated that the issue of a megathrust that could potentially hit Java Island should not be considered a wind. The government and relevant stakeholders need to anticipate so as not to cause heavy casualties and losses.

The earthquake sources around Jakarta that have the potential to have an impact in the Jakarta area include three of the active faults. Namely the Baribis Fault with a potential magnitude (M) of 6.5, the Lembang Fault with potential M6.8 and the Cimandiri Fault with potential M6.7.
