11 Days Of Campaign Period, West Java Bawaslu Find 27 Alleged Violations

During the campaign period since September 25, 2024, the West Java Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) found allegations of 27 election violations being handled.

At least, the Head of West Java Bawaslu, Zacky Muhammad Zam Zam, said this after the peace declaration at Gedung Sate Bandung, West Java on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

"A total of 21 cases are reports from the public or from the campaign team, and six others, alleged violations of findings from the election supervisor," said Zacky Muhammad, as quoted by Antara.

Zacky said that of the 27 election violations, the most were related to the neutrality of village heads and ASN, followed by money politics, and campaigns in prohibited places such as educational facilities and places of worship.

"Well, from the findings and reports, of course, we urge all candidate pairs, not only governors/deputy governors, but regents, spread across 27 re-districts/cities, to re-examine the rules, especially article 69 of Law 10/2016 concerning bans and campaign sanctions. it's just related to policy politics, neutrality, hoax information, politicization of SARA," said Zacky.

For the neutrality of village heads and ASN that is profitable and detrimental to certain candidate pairs, Zacky stated that there were 10 cases consisting of three cases in Ciamis Regency, one case in Subang Regency, three cases in Cianjur Regency, one case in Indramayu, one case in Karawang, and one case in Majalengka.

Then, Zacky continued for money politics, there were three cases, namely in Subang Regency and two cases in Cimahi City. Then the campaign case at the educational place is in Cianjur as many as three cases.

"The campaign props are in Kuningan one, Cimahi City one, Garut one. Then the campaign uses the country's facilities or programs in Karawang. So all of that is still in the process of handling each local Bawaslu district," he said.

For the sanctions given, Zacky said that his party recommended that the authorities, for example, regarding the neutrality of ASN, submit their recommendations to the National Civil Service Agency (BKN).

"Then the neutrality of the village head to the Community and Village Empowerment Service, to the Regent/Mayor. So the recommendations are like that, to the authorities, later they will review it, re-examine whether the disciplinary punishment is moderate, light, or severe. Then the polymer politicskita recommends to the Gakumdu Center to be handled," he said.
