Moderate To Heavy Rain Has The Potential To Flush Parts Of Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning of the potential for moderate to heavy rain in parts of Indonesia on Saturday.

According to Antara, the potential for rain is predicted in most provinces on the islands of Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi.

The potential for heavy rain and strong winds accompanied by thunder will occur in Aceh Province, the Aceh Jaya region, and surrounding areas. BMKG issued an early warning so that people in the area were aware of the impact of flooding.

Meanwhile, in Bali Province, people are asked to be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds, as well as sea waves that can reach 2 meters in the southern part of the Bali Strait, Badung Strait, southern Lombok Strait, and the South Indian Ocean of Bali.

Furthermore, moderate to heavy rain on the island of Sumatra has the potential to occur in the provinces of Bangka Belitung, Bengkulu, Jambi, Lampung, Riau, West Sumatra, South Sumatra and North Sumatra.

Then there is the potential for moderate to heavy rain in Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Maluku, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and Papua.

Furthermore, it has the potential to occur in Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan.

Also, the BMKG issued an early warning of increasing air temperature and decreasing rainfall which could trigger the potential for easy forest or land fires in West Kalimantan.
