Yemen Attacked By Air Strikes, Houthi Accuses US-UK Perpetrators

JAKARTA - Airstrikes were launched in several Yemeni areas including the capital Sanaa and Hodeidah airport, according to a Al Masirah TV report, a major television news outlet run by the Houthis.

The attack also targeted the southern part of the city of Dhamar, the channel continued.

Al Masirah TV reported the attack was carried out by US and British troops, but British government sources said Britain was not involved.

Houthi militants allied with Iran have launched attacks on international ships near Yemen since November 2023 as a form of solidarity with Palestine in Israel's war with Hamas.

Houthi attacks have sparked American and British retaliatory attacks and disrupted global trade as ship owners changed the ship's route away from the Red Sea and the Suez Canal to sail over longer routes around the southern tip of Africa.
