Russian Citizens Fall While Climbing Mount Rinjani

The officers of the Gunung Rinjani National Park (TNGR) together with the joint apparatus evacuated a foreign national (WNA) from Russia who fell while climbing Mount Rinjani, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) illegally.

The head of the Lombok Yarman TNGR Office said the climbing accident occurred again after previously on September 29, 2024, climbers from Jakarta had an accident.

"On Friday, October 4, 2024, a male Russian citizen who illegally climbed into an accident around post 2 of the Sembalun climbing tourist route," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 4.

The Russian citizen fell on a steep slope and allegedly used a mouse lane to avoid inspection at Post 2, resulting in him being trapped in a fairly dangerous condition.

"The results of the observation when the evacuation team carried out first aid the victim's condition suffered a fracture and bleeding was found around the head," he said.

The evacuation team consisting of National Park officers, medical personnel and joint officers was dispatched to the location at around 00.45 WITA in the morning, after previously receiving information from officers at post 2 there was a visitor accident at around 21.30 WITA.

The evacuation team arrived at the location of the victim at around 03.30 WITA and immediately carried out first aid, the victim was successfully evacuated and arrived at the nearest health center at 09.00 WITA.

"The evacuation process lasted for more than five hours with quite a tough terrain challenge," he said.
