Commission And DPR Agency Determined Before The Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet Was Formed

JAKARTA - The DPR's Council Apparatus (AKD) will be established before the new cabinet of government is formed. AKD both commission and agency as much as possible adjusts the posts of ministries and institutions in the elected Presidential government, Prabowo Subianto later.

"We will discuss it as soon as possible according to the mechanism, after there is news on how the president plans to be elected in the future regarding the upcoming cabinet," said Puan at the DPR Building, Thursday, October 3.

The DPR will determine the AKD before the cabinet announcement in which the President-elect will be sworn in on October 20.

Regarding the possibility that a commission will be merged to adjust to the number of ministries in the cabinet, Puan said it was still under discussion in the DPR. He also could not confirm whether there would be a new AKD formation following the possibility of additional ministerial posts in Prabowo's cabinet.

"We are all working on it and discussing it together. (Number of AKD) doesn't exist yet," said Puan.

Although the new AKD will be determined shortly before the new cabinet is formed on October 20, Puan ensures that the DPR, which is a member of the 2024-2029 period, was inaugurated on Tuesday (1/10) yesterday, is still working. Because apart from the establishment of the AKD, there are many things that must be resolved following the DPR which has also just changed its membership.

Among them, according to the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the internal consolidation of factions in the DPR, including the determination of faction leaders. With so many new members in the current DPR period, said Puan, there will also be many factions holding meetings, for example to provide socialization.

They have to understand more about what the DPR looks like, they also have to meet each other, there are many more meetings related to what the DPR is and so on. Then consolidate the factions. We will first determine the leadership of the factions," he explained.

"This is only a week before the determination of the commissions and the determination of the AKD-AKD," continued Puan.

Puan also ensured that members of the DPR for the 2024-2029 period would still have an office even though there was no determination of AKD.

"They will definitely come to the office to meet with the faction leadership that has been determined," concluded Bung Karno's grandson.
