The Good Friday Service In West Jakarta Is Guarded By 2,500 Security Officers

JAKARTA - Today, 2,500 joint security personnel were deployed to secure the celebration of Good Friday and Easter Day at churches in West Jakarta.

West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Ady Wibowo said that the activities to secure the 2021 Easter Day that have been carried out to this day are safe and conducive.

"There are about 2,500 joint personnel deployed in the security of the Good Friday and Easter Sunday services," Ady told reporters, Friday, April 2.

For now, there are 120 churches in West Jakarta celebrating Good Friday to Easter Sunday. Where, as many as 48 churches conducted online worship activities and 72 churches carried out face-to-face activities.

Ady explained that the series of security for several days received support from the West Jakarta Kodim 0503 and the West Jakarta administration city government. A number of community members will also assist in the security until Easter.

"We also have security support from Polda Metro Jaya and Kodam Jaya, which are provided for the security of the West Jakarta area. So, we can allocate or determine sufficient maximum security," he said.

Continuing, Dandim 0503 JB Colonel Inf Dadang Ismail Marzuki said, in this security, his party also received assistance from the Kodam Jaya about 1 SSK and 300 personnel from the 0503 JB commando.

"The security of the Good Friday and Easter services also sent 4 units of Anoa and Panther," he said.

On the same occasion, the Mayor of West Jakarta, Uus Kuswanto, said that this kind of security activity has often been carried out, both securing Easter and other major celebrations.

"In this security, his party has also coordinated both the West Jakarta Metro Police and the 0503 JB Kodim, so that they can map the points of the area that are secured," said Uus.
