Jokowi Visits The NTT Kefamenanu Market, Checks Food Prices And Says Goodbye

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited the Kefamenanu Market, North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to check food prices and at the same time say goodbye to ending his term of office as president to local residents.

During the visit, Jokowi checked the fluctuations in the prices of basic commodities in the local market.

The President noted that there are several commodities that have decreased prices, such as cayenne pepper, while other commodities such as shallots and garlic remain stable.

"In the Kefamenanu Market, some have dropped, such as cayenne pepper, some are still like shallots and garlic. But there are also rising prices, namely rice," he said during a dialogue with residents as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 2.

In addition to conveying information about food price conditions, President Jokowi personally apologized to all residents present at the market.

Jokowi realizes that as an ordinary human being, he does not escape mistakes and shortcomings. Jokowi apologized for the policies that might be less pleasing to the hearts of the public.

"I am an ordinary human being who is full of mistakes, who is full of shortcomings, who is full of mistakes. On this good occasion, I would like to apologize profusely for all the mistakes, for any policies that may be less pleasing to the hearts of all of you," said Jokowi.

Jokowi ended his speech with a thank you to the residents who attended.

President Jokowi was sworn in as president on October 20, 2014. After being re-elected in the 2019 general election, he began his second term on October 20, 2019.

His position as President is scheduled to end on October 20, 2024, after completing a two-term leadership period.
