JAKARTA - Rieke Diah Pitaloka was re-elected as a member of the DPR for the period 2024-2029. In his fourth term as a representative of the people, he ensured that he would continue to work for the benefit of the people, including guarding a number of issues that were still a problem in national development.

"Everything I can control, I control as much as I can, depending on the commission too," said Rieke after the inauguration of DPR Members for the 2024-2029 period at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 1.

This member of Commission VI of the DPR in the 2019-2024 period also mentioned a number of issues that need attention. One of them, said Rieke, is about hundreds of decrees on the appointment of midwives as Government Employees with work agreements that are still hanging.

"What we can guard is the SK of the educator midwives who had been obstructed since passing the exam yesterday they were finally able to get another exam and hopefully their SK as PPPK will not be detained by the state again," he said.

In recent times, Rieke has indeed made strong criticisms of the government due to the hampered SK 532 educator midwives who have passed the 2023 PPPK selection.

In addition to the issue, Rieke admitted that he would also focus on overseeing the investigation of major cases.

"You have to stay focused on several major corruption cases so that there is a solution in the future government," said Rieke.

Furthermore, Rieke said that he is ready to work to oversee programs and problems that have not been resolved by the current government, for example related to the problem of a large layoff storm in 2024 and the difficulty of generation Z finding work.

"Now the data states that there are quite large layoffs of approximately 100 thousand registered this year," said the legislator from the West Java VII electoral district.

Not to mention, said Rieke, Indonesia is being faced with many cases of criminal trafficking in persons (TPPO). Including the case of Indonesian citizens who are victims of online scamming abroad.

"From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) data itself, the indications of online scamming are that there are around 3,000 young people abroad. We don't know how to return it," said Rieke.

"So the school people can be clear where they work later, because it starts from high school. Let's say the vocation is improved, the polytechnic is improved which is tailored to our industrial needs," Rieke concluded.
