Purchasing Prices And Excess Paying Are The Motives For Corruption In The Construction Of Bank Kalbar, 3 People Become The Main Suspects

PONTIANAK - Aspidsus of the West Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office, Siju, revealed the mode of corruption in the land acquisition case for the construction of the Bank Kalbar head office in 2015, which currently has three main suspects detained.

"Currently, we have detained three suspects in the alleged corruption case in land acquisition for the construction of the Bank Kalbar head office in 2015. This detention follows the disclosure of the motive for increasing the purchase price so that there is an overpayment in land acquisition transactions which reached Rp30 billion," said Siju in Pontianak, Antara, Tuesday, October 1.

He explained that the land acquisition was carried out with a total purchase price of Rp99,173,013,750 for a land area of 7,883 square meters, but an investigation by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Representative of West Kalimantan Province found an unnatural difference in payments, which is currently in the process of further investigation.

From the results of the investigation, the West Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office named three people as suspects, among others, the suspect with the initials S as the President Director in 2015, then SI as the General Director in 2015 and MF as the Chair of the Procurement Committee.

As of Monday (30/9), two suspects, namely S and SI, have been detained to facilitate the legal process, while MF is still in the process of being investigated.

"The two suspects will be held accountable in accordance with the articles in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, which has been amended by Law Number 20 of 2001," he said.

This case is in the public spotlight because it reflects the importance of transparency and accountability in the use of public budgets.

Saju said the West Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office was committed to completing this investigation fairly and thoroughly, and hoped to prevent similar practices from happening in the future.

"We urge the public to actively participate in monitoring the use of public funds for the realization of better governance," he said.
