MBZ Toll Corruption Case, AGO Examines Former Director General Of Highways

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) is examining three witnesses in the investigation of the alleged corruption case of the construction of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II toll road in the Cikunir to West Karawang section, known as MBZ.

One of the three witnesses examined was the former Director General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

"(Investigating) HR as Director General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) RI for the period 2020 or Chairman of the Road Bridge and Tunnel Security Commission (KKJTJ) for the Approval of the Japek II Elevated Toll Design for the period 2015 to 2019," said Head of the Attorney General's Office, Harli Siregar in his statement, Tuesday, October 1.

Meanwhile, the other two witnesses who were also questioned were YA as Secretary of the Procurement Committee for Vulnerable Services, Consultant Services for Engineering Supervision, Consulation Services for Construction of Consultants for Independent Quality Control; and JSW who is the President Director of PT Virama Karya.

However, it was not conveyed in detail what was being investigated by the three witnesses. It was only conveyed that their examination was carried out Monday, September 30.

"The witness examination was carried out to strengthen the evidence and complete the filing in the case," said Harli.

In handling the MBZ toll road corruption case, the AGO has named five suspects, one of whom has the initials DP as Waskita-Acset's Operational Cooperation Authority (KSO).

Meanwhile, the other four suspects are the President Director (Director) of Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) Djoko Dwijono, Chairman of the Auction Committee PT JJC Yudhi Mahyudin, Director of Operations of PT Bukaka Teknik Utama Sofiah Balfas, and former Expert Staff of the PT LAPI Ganeshama Consulting Bridge, Tony Budianto Sihite.

The four of them have undergone a judicial process. Where, the panel of judges sentenced them to 4 years in prison.
