JAKARTA - An Israeli military strike has killed a Palestinian militant in a refugee camp in southern Lebanon.
Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported that the Monday, September 30 night raid in the Ain Al-Helweh refugee camp targeted the home of Munir Muqdah, the commander of Lebanon's Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and the father of the slain militant, the report said on Tuesday, October 1.
The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian political party Fatah, announced the death of Hassan Munir Muqdah in what they described as an assassination operation.
The fate of the Palestinian commander is unknown.
According to CNN, the Israeli military on Tuesday warned residents of southern Lebanon not to travel south following cross-border attacks by Israeli forces targeting Hezbollah.
