Prabowo Reveals Plans For His Meeting With Megawati: God Willing, Before The Inauguration

JAKARTA - The elected President of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, revealed about his planned meeting with the General Chair of the PDI-P (PDIP) as well as the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri.

The chairman of the Gerindra Party gave a signal that the meeting would definitely take place. "God willing," Prabowo told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 1.

Prabowo hopes that a meeting with Megawati can be held before he is appointed President of the Republic of Indonesia on October 20, 2024.

"Hopefully before the inauguration," he said.

Previously, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani confirmed that the meeting between the PDIP General Chairperson and Gerindra General Chair and the elected President, Prabowo Subianto, would soon take place. The meeting, said Puan, will be held at the right time and in a fun place.

"Yes, God willing, we will soon hold a meeting between Mrs. Mega and Mr. Prabowo. In the right timing time, in a fun place," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, September 26.

Puan denied that the 5th President and 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia who will be sworn in on October 20 are waiting to meet each other. Puan said, the two had wanted to meet for a long time.

"Enggak selalu tunggu tungguan, kan beliau berdua mempunyai jadwal yang sama-sama sibuk. Namun, kita sudah bicara juga bersama-sama, yang bisa saya pahami, beliau berdua sama sama berkeinginan untuk bertemu," kata Ketua DPR periode 2019-2024 itu.

"I'm not always waiting for the wait, he both has a busy schedule. However, we've also talked together, which I can understand, he both wants to meet," said the chairman of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period.
