74-Year-Old Grandfather In Kemayoran Caught Harassing Junior High School Student On The Side Of The Road, Viral

JAKARTA - An elderly man in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, is dealing with the police over allegations of harassment against junior high school students.

The act of obscenity against the 8th grade student was recorded on the residents' cellphone cameras and went viral on Instagram social media.

In the video footage, the 74-year-old grandfather wore a white t-shirt sitting in front of a building with his victim. However, the grandfather's hands seemed to be active to the victim's body.

"I'm an obscene boy," said the video recorder.

Head of Public Relations of the Kemayoran Police, Bripka Ricky Sihite, said that currently the perpetrators have been arrested and are still being investigated by the police.

"This is still being investigated, we secured it because it went viral. Later on, the handling, especially at the PPA unit police," he said when confirmed, Monday, September 30.

Bripka Ricky said, based on information from the victim's family, the perpetrator had molested the junior high school student 3 times.

"If the family's confession has been monitored, it's two to three times," he said.

Every time he commits his depraved act, the perpetrator lures Rp. 5,000 to the victim.

"There is (iming) 5 thousand silver," he said.

Bripka Ricky said, based on provisional information, the perpetrator had never had sex with the victim. So far, the perpetrator has only touched sensitive parts of the victim.

"Harassment is not obscenity, if it is obscenity, it is like that," he said.

Meanwhile, the case was transferred to the Central Jakarta Metro Police PPA Unit.
