JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul confirmed the message of President-elect Prabowo Subianto during the last cabinet meeting at IKN regarding a number of social challenges that Indonesia will face in the future, including the issue of drugs and online gambling.

The problem of drugs and online gambling, he continued, is a serious problem for every country that wants to rise. The problem has very serious social consequences. Therefore, to overcome this problem, he also emphasized the need for joint collaboration.

He added that the Ministry of Social Affairs will later innovate and improve the less in order to accelerate the social welfare of the community.

On this occasion, Gus Ipul also expressed his appreciation to Commission VIII of the DPR because in 2020 he had experienced difficult times when the COVID-19 storm hit the world.

"In these difficult times, the poverty rate can decrease compared to before the COVID-19 period," he added.

Gus Ipul said, at the Ministry of Social Affairs the distribution of PKH assistance and other social assistance has maintained people's purchasing power to remain stable. The implementation of the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) not only restores the Social Welfare Service (PPKS), but also ensures that PPKS gets proper treatment according to needs.

Social empowerment and strengthening entrepreneurship have been able to increase the economy of beneficiary families. Therefore, he also promised to pay attention to input from Commission VIII of the DPR asking for social assistance data problems to get priority from his ministry.
