Fuel Subsidy Wants To Be Recovered To BLT, DPR Asks To Fix Aid Recipient Data

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR RI PKS faction Mulyanto asked for improvement and updating of aid recipient data if the Prabowo Subianto Administration wanted to divert the existing fuel subsidy to Direct Cash Assistance (BLT).

According to him, it is important to update data so that it is more accurate and transparent. Because, so far, many reports have stated that BLT was not on target.

"The recipients are just that, even people who are relatively old, while people who are more appropriate don't even get BLT," Mulyanto told reporters on Sunday, September 29.

In addition to data updates, Mulyanto assessed that the distribution system must also be improved. Namely, by being directly given to the community without any intermediary party as has happened so far.

Mulyanto believes that this method can reduce the risk of deductions by those who are trying to seek profit from the distribution of BLT.

"This can also minimize the singing of BLT as a tool for political campaigns for certain parties. BLT is the right of the community, not the gift of the authorities. So do not be labeled with campaign materials or any imaging," explained Mulyanto.

The government, he continued, must also improve the surveillance system to minimize irregularities in the distribution of BLT. Therefore, according to Mulyanto, the government must prepare law enforcement officers and strict rules to take action against those who try to cheat.

"Another thing that needs to be done by the government must also implement budget efficiency. The reduction or diversion of fuel subsidies should be followed by budget efficiency," he said.

Mulyanto reminded that the government that will be led by Prabowo Subianto must also dare to evaluate ambitious projects that swallow a lot of budgets such as IKN. If it is considered burdensome to the state budget, he said, it should be stopped.

Moreover, he added, President Joko Widodo indirectly stated that he had given up because he only realized that moving the nation's capital and ASN was not easy.

"This condition needs to be done so that assistance is right on target and the poor do not get heavier in life," concluded Mulyanto.
