Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Rejects Hamas' Role In Postwar Gaza

JAKARTA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke about the future of postwar Gaza in a speech at the UN General Assembly.

"Israel will reject the role of Hamas in postwar Gaza," he said as quoted by CNN, Friday, September 27.

"We are not trying to reformulate Gaza, we are trying to carry out demilitarization and deradicalization of Gaza. Only then can we ensure this round of battles will be the final round of the fight," he added.

Israel, according to Netanyahu, is ready to cooperate with regional and local partners to support civilian rule in Gaza.

"Those who are committed to peaceful coexistence," he said.

Until now there has been no sign of war in Gaza that Israel will end. Most recently, Israel has attacked refugee camps at a hospital complex in Gaza.

It was reported that one person was killed and a number of others injured in Israeli airstrikes. CNN video of the scene at Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, in Deir al-Balah, identified the remains of a US-made Hellfire missile at the scene.

The man who was killed was identified as a 41-year-old man.

Israel's Defense Forces (IDF) told CNN the Israeli air force carried out the exact attack on Islamist Jihad militants operating within a command and control center located in the Humanitarian Territory in Deir Al Balah.
