JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Directorate General of America and Europe is ready to explore new opportunities for Indonesian and European business actors through the Indonesia-Europe Business Forum (IEBF) 2024, targeting transactions of IDR 16 trillion.
Director General of European America, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Umar Hadi, said that the activities to be held in Jakarta on October 7-8 will be attended by around 71 companies from Europe, as well as 353 companies from Indonesia, underscoring that this could still increase.
The event, which will be held for the second time, will carry the theme "Promoting Indonesia-Europe Business Collaboration Towards a More Sustainable and Equitable Economic Development".
"There are five industrial sectors that will be the focus of activities this time, technology and innovation, the green and blue economy, tourism and the cultural industry, the creative industry and the health industry," said Ambassador Umar Hadi in a press statement at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Friday, September 27.
Regarding the transaction target to be achieved from this business forum, Ambassador Umar Hadi hopes that at least what was achieved in the Indonesia-Latin America and the Caribbean (INALIAC) forum some time ago which reached around US$1 billion or around Rp. 16.2 trillion.
Meanwhile, Apindo Chairman Shinta Widjaja Kamdani appreciated the IEBF event by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighting efforts to continue to facilitate business relations and investment of Indonesian business actors with various countries.
"We appreciate the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be able to facilitate business to business engagement," he said.
He added that Europe is very large, not only a few countries that have been export and investment destinations.
"This activity is an opening opportunity for other countries in Europe to have a platform and direct engagement with business actors in Indonesia," he said.
