East Kalimantan Bawaslu Call The Unmul Chancellor Regarding The Allegation Of Campaigning For Cagub Isran Noor

SAMARINDA - The East Kalimantan General Election Supervisory Agency summoned the Chancellor of Mulawarman University Samarinda Prof. Dr. Abdunnur for questioning regarding the alleged partiality to the candidate for governor number 1 Isran Noor.

Head of the East Kalimantan General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Hari Dermanto stated that the summons for Abdunnur was part of tracing information received from the public.

"We are digging up information about Unmul's graduation event when the chancellor gave a speech. We received this information from the public and we need to dig deeper into information from the information giver," said Hari as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 27.

At that time, Isran Noor was invited to attend the Third Wave Unmul Graduation activity on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in order to give a speech to graduates and graduates.

According to him, Abdunnur had given information during the day after not attending in the morning. During the examination, Bawaslu asked 21 questions related to the activities attended by Isran Noor.

"We are also digging up information about the truth of the video circulating. The Chancellor confirmed that the remarks were delivered on September 21 at the Mulawarman University Sports Hall, Samarinda," he added.

Hari explained that the principle of proof requires indications based on existing evidence. Currently, Bawaslu has not been able to conclude whether there is a violation committed by the Unmul Chancellor.

"If you look at the video described by the chancellor, it is true that he invited Isran Noor as part of the alumni association and the video was a welcome speech at graduation," he explained.

Bawaslu will continue to dig up information from various parties, including graduates / female students who attended the event.

"The assessment of whether the video contains elements of an invitation to choose and contain elements of the campaign still requires further examination," said Hari.

This deepening of information is estimated to take seven days. Bawaslu hopes that public support in providing the necessary information.

"We hope that people who know about this incident can attend to provide information. This is still from one side, namely the chancellor. We also need information from the graduates to get a more complete picture," said Hari Dermanto.

"Isran Noor is present as the General Chair of IKA Unmul and we all know he is a candidate for governor. As a citizen of East Kalimantan, let's pray that he will be the best leader of East Kalimantan," said Abdunnur repeating his statement at the graduation procession.

Abdunnur reasoned that any Unmul alumni who become leaders, both at the regional and national levels, must be fully supported.

"I am not sided with anyone. Whoever is an alumni of Unmul, let's pray that they become the best leaders," he added.

Dalam pertemuan dengan Bawaslu Kaltim, Abdunnur menjawab sekitar 21 pertanyaan yang diajukan terkait berbagai hal yang perlu diklarifikasi.

"There are many questions that need to be answered, especially regarding whether there is any emphasis from one of the candidates. However, I reiterate that whoever is an alumni of Unmul, we wish them the best," said Abdunnur.
