Propam Polri Bakal Sanksi Tegas Polisi Tak Netral Di Pilkada 2024

JAKARTA - The Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General Abdul Karim, stated that he would take firm action against members of the Bhayangkara Corps who were not neutral during the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

He made this statement after holding a Police Propam coordination meeting at the STIK-PTIK Auditorium, South Jakarta.

"Yes, if we find it is not neutral, we will give sanctions, we will have moderate and severe sanctions," Karim told reporters, Thursday, September 26.

For example, sanctions that will be given to non-neutral members of the National Police ranging from special placement (patsus) to detention.

However, exact sanctions that will be given to non-neutral police are determined through a code of ethics trial mechanism.

"At the time of the code of ethics trial, the punishment decision will be given," said Karim.

In the Police Propam coordination meeting, Karim also told his staff not to lean towards one of the candidates. The neutrality of the Police in the implementation of the Pilkada must be held firmly.

"Regarding the simultaneous regional elections that we will face in November, which is currently entering the campaign stage. So that's all I need to convey to this activity," said Karim.
