Umar Kei Deniesroyok Stafsus Arsjad Rasjid: If My Hand Fell, It Would Be Covered In Blood

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Maluku Muslim Youth Front (FPMM), Umar Kei, denied involvement in the beating against Arif Rahman as the Special Staff (Staffsus) of the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for the period 2021-2026.

According to him, there has never been a beating like what Arif Rahman reported to the Polda Metro Jaya.

"My hand never fell. If my hand fell, it would have been covered in blood. Even died, yes. But I never felt hit but he did," Umar Kei told reporters, Thursday, September 26.

In fact, Umar Kei admitted that he only learned of a commotion after receiving information from staff Arsjad Rasjid reported it to the police.

However, as a good citizen, Umar Kei chose to attend the invitation to clarify the report on the alleged beating.

"As a good citizen, our country is a state of law, he reports me, yes I am obliged and today I am present in the context of a letter (invitation) clarifying from Polda friends," he said.

Umar Kei also briefly conveyed his presence at the Kadin Tower because he was asked to come by Taufan Eko Nugroho.

Because, at that time the sister-in-law of Anindya Bakrie said that there were unknown people who came to the Kadin Tower.

Arriving at the location, Umar Kei met the unknown person. It turned out that they were only worried about their work following the news of the replacement of the Head of Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Umar Kei also bridged them with Taufan so as not to lose their jobs.

"I asked, what problem do you have? So when I asked, they said we had this complaint. Then I said, I will ask Taufan for help and surely you will be helped," he said.

"I asked Bang Taufan for help, and they wanted to be helped. The contract was about to finish in 2025, but according to them, because the manager was new, they wanted to terminate the contract," continued Umar Kei.

For information, Arif Rahman reported Umar Kei and Taufan Eko Nugroho for alleged beatings he experienced to the Polda Metro Jaya. The report was registered with the number LP/B/5591/IX/2024/SPKT POLDA METRO JAYA.

In the report, due to Arif Rahman's beating, he suffered bruises on several parts of his body.
