The Following Two Open Like Car Thieves Were Arrested In Mampang, South Jakarta

JAKARTA - The police arrested three specialist car thieves in a pickup truck in two locations in the Mampang Prapatan area, South Jakarta. The three perpetrators had the initials MA (39), SYA (43) and STO (43).

Mampang Prapatan Police Chief, Kompol Edy Purwanto said one of the three perpetrators arrested was a picker. While the other two perpetrators were collectors of stolen goods.

There were two reports received by the Mampang Prapatan Police. The first report was on Jalan Kemang Selatan, Wednesday, October 11, 2023 and the second was in Moh Kahfi on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

"We managed to secure 3 suspects with the initials MA, SYA, and STO," said Edy to reporters at the Mampang Prapatan Police, Jakarta Tuesday, Wednesday, September 25.

Edy also received reports of victims who lost their cars in the Mampang Prapatan area, South Jakarta.

Then carried out an investigation until it was finally revealed that the MA perpetrator was carrying out a car sale and purchase transaction like an open car in the Panongan area, Tangerang Regency.

On that basis, he took action until he was finally able to arrest the perpetrators of MA, SYA and STO.

"Mitsubishi is sold for Rp. 31 million, (Car) Carry Pik Up for Rp. 20 million is sold to SYA," he said.

He explained that STO's role was the person who delivered the cars after SYA and MA had reached an agreement.

"(The role) of STO is to deliver the car to the buyer," he said.

Currently, the three perpetrators have been taken to the Mampang Prapatan Police. The three perpetrators have been named as suspects.

"MA was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 9 years, SYA and STO were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with 481 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 7 years," he concluded.
