Breaking Through The Doorstop, Molen Truck Was Hit By A Taksaka Train At The Bantul Crossing

The accident between a train and a truck occurred at a railroad crossing in Gubug Hamlet, Argosari, Sedayu, Bantul, on Wednesday, September 25 in the morning.

The incident involving the Taksaka train heading Gambir-Yogyakarta and the Molen truck took place at around 03.45 WIB, when the truck tried to break through the doorstop which was being closed.

Head of Public Relations of the Bantul Police, AKP I Nengah Jeffry, explained that the accident began when the gatekeeper, Choirul Anam (30), received a signal that the train would pass. According to the procedure, Choirul immediately closed the doorstop.

"However, before the doorstop was completely closed, the Molen truck numbered B 9240 JIQ drove from north to south and tried to break through the doorstop," he said.

Because the distance between the trains coming from the west was very close, the accident was inevitable. The Taksaka train with the locomotive number CC2061378 crashed into the truck.

The train driver, Fajar Sidiq (39), who was on duty at that time could not stop the train in a short time. As a result of this hard impact, the truck suffered severe damage, as did the train locomotive.

There were no reports of casualties in this accident. However, material losses are quite large, including damage to the doorstop equipment, guard posts, and vehicles involved.

This accident allegedly occurred due to the negligence of the truck driver who forced his way through the railroad door. Until this news was revealed, the authorities were still conducting further investigations into this incident.
