Perpetrators Target 1 In 4 People Killed In Nightclub Shooting In Alabama

JAKARTA - At least four people were killed and 17 others injured in the shooting in Birmingham, Alabama, United States (US).

Police said the perpetrators, consisting of several people, opened fire on a crowd standing outside near Magnolia Avenue in the Five Points South area, Birmingham, Sunday evening, September 22 local time.

"Several victims were critically injured", Birmingham Policeman said in a press conference, hours after the incident that occurred at nightclubs in the most popular entertainment district in Birmingham, quoted by CBN News.

Fire and Rescue Birmingham said two men and one woman were declared dead at the scene. Police who arrived found the victim dead with gunshot wounds lying lifeless on the sidewalk.

The dead victims were identified as Anitra Holloman, 21, Tahj Booker, 27, and Carlos McCain, 27.

The fourth shot victim, an adult, was pronounced dead by staff at the University of Alabama Hospital (UAB Hospital) in Birmingham.

Meanwhile, of the injured victims, four were in critical condition.

The UAB Hospital treated 12 injured victims as a result of this incident, including the fourth death toll.

Birmingham Police Detectives predict the shooting was not random.

Police suspect the shooting targeted one person who died, while the other was the victim because he was at the scene.

Until now the police have not made arrests. The perpetrator is still being chased by the authorities.
