Three aircraft belonging to the Indonesian National Army (TNI) Air Force (AU) conducted trials at Nusantara Airport, infrastructure to support the transportation of Indonesia's future capital city, located in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province.

"Three Indonesian Air Force aircraft conducted a trial of the Nusantara Airport runway, namely taking off (take off) and landing (landing)," said Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal TNI M Tonny Harjono, ANTARA, Sunday, September 22.

Based on the results of the survey, Nusantara Airport has a runway dimension of 2,200x30 meters, he said, with a shoulder dimension of a runway of 7.5 meters, and a planned runway (taxiway) or a connecting road between the runway and the aircraft courtyard of 153x23 meters.

The airport runway is designed to have the quality of the asphalt eligible as a place to come for aircraft when carrying out braking action measures before reaching 2,200 meters, the aircraft stops with normal configurations.

"We conducted a survey before the trial, as well as coordination and discussions to get information that required readiness of the airport area to be directly related to aircraft (airside)," he also said.

"Then carry out trials on September 14, 15, and 20, 2024 with three types of aircraft, the trial went smoothly and was successful," he said again.

The three types of aircraft belonging to the Indonesian Air Force are used for the test runway of Nusantara Airport, namely Casa 212/A-2104, CN 295/A-2905, and Hercules C130/A-1338.

The first trial was carried out using the Casa 212/A-2104 aircraft manned by Major Pnb Susilo Adisaputro, Captain Pilot Pnb Faizal Fibriyan and Co-Pilot Lettu Pnb Luthfian Dwi Palowarsyah and Lt.da Pnb M. Tsalis Fahmi as crew, with trials of takeoff and landing.

Then continued the second trial of taking off CN 295/A-2905, with Lt. Col. Pnb Fitrianto Ali Ngimron as the Pilot Consultant, Pnb Ryan Parafoila acting as Captain Pilot and First Lieutenant Pnb Kukuh Dedy Riyantoko acting as Co-Pilot.

the last trial was carried out using Hercules C130/A-1338 aircraft, which is one of the heavy transport aircraft of the Indonesian Air Force, he said again, with Lt. Col. Pnb A. Muh Averroes and Co-Pilot Captain of Pnb Gustine Rossyan.

The trial was carried out to accelerate the operation of Nusantara Airport, said TNI Marshal M Tonny Harjono.
