JAKARTA - Turkey's new unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV), Bayraktar TB3, specifically designed for the country's first aircraft carrier, is expected to begin a test flight from the aircraft carrier, said the chairman of the board and CTO Baykar's Cellancheuk Bayraktar.

"Our work on Bayraktar TB3 is currently underway. We have started the production of Turkey's first unmanned fighter, Bayraktar Kryptazturlelma, and our work to accelerate the production phase continues," he said in an interview with Anadolu Agency., reported by the Daily Sabah September 20

"The Bayraktar TB3 prototype version is being prepared for its first flight. Hopefully, Bayraktar TB3 will soon start its trial at TCG Anadolu," he added.

TCG Anadolu is Turkey's first multipurpose LHD-class amphibious assault ship and warship, commissioned last year.

Bayraktar previously hinted at its newest drone likely to take off from TCG Anadolu in 2024.

Earlier this year, Bayraktar TB3 completed its first ski jump test from ground-based and most recently, just days ago the company shared a video describing it completing its sixth test.

TB3, known for its foldable wings, made its inaugural flight at the end of October last year, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.
