TANGERANG - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) has spoken out regarding the oil theft allegedly carried out by a 7-year-old mother and girl in the Pondok Aren area, South Tangerang (Tangsel).

In the theft, the mother and child allegedly shared the task of stealing one carton of oil at a cake shop in the Pondok Aren area, South Tangerang.

KPAI Commissioner Diyah Puspitarini admitted that he was very concerned about the incident. According to Diyah, this is a problematic parenting act.

"Yes, this includes children with wrong parenting. Obviously, the mother must be reminded and if it is proven that they have stolen, it will still be processed," said Diyah when confirmed, Friday, September 20.

Diyah thought, although parents reasoned because of economic factors, they should not have to teach their children to steal.

Because for him this action will have an impact on the child, it is considered true, because it is considered the right step to make money.

"It must have a very impact, so these children are called problematic parenting. (Because) actually want sufficient economic conditions or shortcomings if good parental care will not be a problem, but problematic parenting can occur due to economic pressure conditions or lifestyle conditions," he said.

Therefore, he advised the relevant Social Service to provide assistance to the victim's child and rehabilitation to his parents, so that the care for his child would be better.

"For cases like this, there should be parental guidance through the Social Service and DP3 so that families can be assisted socially and independently, as well as family assistance through the Puspaga so that parents with problems can be rehabilitated and accompanied so that care is better," he concluded.

Previously, the theft was carried out by a woman with her child who was estimated to be 7 years old, in the Pondok Aren area, South Tangerang. In the video footage seen, it seems that the mother and child understand what they did at that time.

Naufal, the shop owner, said that the mother asked Butter Wijsman and would be purchased in large quantities. Not long after, the child entered a different room while carrying a carton of oil and leaving the location.

"Suddenly the child went back and immediately took a carton of one liter of cooking oil which contained 12. After that, the mothers said thank you. The child immediately walked, the mothers immediately ran away," said Naufal when met at his shop, Wednesday, September 18.
