SBY Declares His Availability To Help And Support Prabowo Gibran's Government

JAKARTA - The Coordinator for the DPP Spokesperson for the Democratic Party, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, explained that the meeting between the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and the elected president Prabowo Subianto focused on discussing the challenges that the nation will face in the future.

SBY visited Prabowo's private residence on Jalan Kertanegara Number 4, Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon. During the meeting, SBY expressed his readiness to support and succeed the government that will be led by Prabowo Subianto.

"Both of them discussed various challenges to come, and Pak SBY expressed his willingness to help and support Pak Prabowo's government," explained Herzaky

This meeting which lasted about an hour provides an opportunity for SBY to provide input to Prabowo regarding the tasks and challenges Prabowo will face as the 8th president of the Republic of Indonesia.

On a separate occasion, Prabowo's spokesman, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, told reporters that discussions between the two took place as usual.

"Pak Prabowo listened to input from Pak SBY regarding his duties and leadership challenges for the next five years, especially given the very dynamic geopolitical and geostrategic conditions," said Dahnil.

After the meeting, SBY chose not to answer reporters' questions and immediately left Prabowo's residence. SBY was seen leaving Prabowo's house at 14.15 WIB and was escorted to the vehicle by the host.

On the terrace of the house, SBY's car was parked. Prabowo and SBY seemed to shake hands with each other, followed by the Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sugiono, and Ragowo Hediprasetyo Djojohadikusumo, Prabowo's only son, who also joined SBY.

SBY, who was wearing a blue safari shirt, had time to salute Prabowo, who replied with the same respect. The two of them were seen talking briefly before SBY entered his car and left Prabowo's house. Prabowo, Sugiono, and Didit -- Prabowo Ragowo's son's nickname-- then got back into the house.
