Chairman of the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja invites the public to express their choice in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election.
Bagja made this statement in response to the discourse of the community who will vote for all pairs of candidates for regional heads and deputy regional heads in the regional elections.
"Go ahead, if you have a political expression, go ahead, but we hope that many voters will also choose regional head candidates. That's what we hope for," said Bagja as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 18.
He also reminded the public to vote on all choices of ballots, the same as destroying them.
"We hope it's not like that. It damages ballots, but is calculated, not as a damaged ballot. We argue, it's up to the citizens, but (hopefully, ed) there will be no movements for that," he said.
Previously, the General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta Province also responded to the community's movement to vote on all candidate pairs in ballots, especially for the Jakarta Pilkada.
