Sukoharjo Police Be Careful In Handling Santri Cases Of Death Persecuted By Seniors At Az Zayadiy Islamic Boarding School

Sukoharjo Police acted quickly to handle the death of a student who was abused by his senior at the Az Zayadiy Islamic Boarding School, Grogol, Sukoharjo, Monday, September 16.

The Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Sukoharjo Police Criminal Investigation Unit together with the Sukoharjo Correctional Center (Bapas) immediately took legal steps, considering that the perpetrators were minors.

"We handled this case very carefully, because the perpetrators are also still children. We not only focus on law enforcement, but also on assistance for the affected parties," explained Sukoharjo Police Chief, AKBP Sigit in a written statement received by VOI, Tuesday, September 17.

Abdul Karim's body has been carried out with a post-mortem process at Dr. Moewardi Hospital, Surakarta, to determine the cause of death. After the medical process is complete, the body is returned to the family in Pucanpeklit, Surakarta.

The Sukoharjo Police also provides psychological assistance for victims' families to help them through these difficult times.

"We want to ensure that the families of the victims get the support they need, both from a legal and psychological perspective," added Sigit.

"This is a tragedy for all parties. We are committed to resolving this case fairly, but also ensuring that the rights of children, both as victims and perpetrators, remain protected. We share our condolences and promise to give full attention to the psychological aspects of the two affected families," he concluded.

A heartbreaking incident rocked the Az Zayadiy Islamic Boarding School, Grogol, Sukoharjo, Monday, September 16. Abdul Karim Putra Wibowo (13), an 8th grade student, died after being suspected of being a victim of abuse by his colleague, MG (15). This tragic event left deep sadness for the family, the cottage, and the surrounding community.

"We are deeply saddened by this incident. This tragedy really shook us, especially considering that the victims and perpetrators and victims were still very young," said Sukoharjo Police Chief AKBP Sigit at the Sukoharjo Police Headquarters, Tuesday, September 17.

The incident began when the perpetrator came to the victim in the dormitory room with the aim of asking for cigarettes. However, the request led to acts of violence.

The perpetrator reportedly hit and kicked the victim until Abdul Karim fell and was unconscious. The victim was declared dead after the incident.
