Stuck In Economic Problems Is The Reason Young Mothers At OKU South Sumatra Are Desperate To Serve 'Guests' At Home

JAKARTA - The Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satreskoba) of the Ogan Komering Ulu Police (OKU), South Sumatra, arrested a housewife for often serving 'guests' at her house. The woman with the initials MA (33) is known to sell methamphetamine-type drugs.

OKU Police Chief AKBP Imam Zamroni said, from the hands of the perpetrators, the police confiscated five packages of methamphetamine weighing 7.06 grams.

"The suspect often conducts drug transactions at his home, therefore the Supreme Court was arrested with information from the public who reported the sale and purchase of methamphetamine at the suspect's house," said Imam in Baturaja, Antara, Tuesday, September 17.

The perpetrator's house is located in Guru Housing, Air Paoh Village, District, East Baturaja.

Plainclothes police undercover buying the suspect. From the suspect's hands, officers confiscated evidence in the form of five packages of methamphetamine-type drugs stored in green wallets.

The police also confiscated a unit of digital scales, two clear plastic clips and a cell phone unit to be used as evidence in court.

For his actions, the suspect will be charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) and Article 112 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"The suspect himself admitted that he was desperate to become a drug dealer because he was hit by family economic problems," he said.

The police chief added that his party continues to carry out efforts to eradicate narcotics abuse to ensure that OKU Regency is completely free from drugs.

This year, during the January-June 2024 period, 51 cases of narcotics abuse were successfully uncovered by the OKU Police.

Of the total cases, 62 suspects, ranging from dealers to dealers, were secured with evidence of 207.08 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 171.71 grams of marijuana and 73 ecstasy pills.
