Ministry Of Religion Affirms All Processes Of Procurement Of 2024 Hajj Services According To The Rules

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) emphasized that the entire process of procuring 2024 Hajj services in Saudi Arabia has been carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.

Director of Foreign Hajj Services at the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, Subhan Cholid, said that the entire process of procuring Hajj services carried out refers to the Minister of Religion Regulation number 9/2016 concerning the Procurement of Goods and Services for the implementation of Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Based on these provisions, he continued, the service procurement process was carried out by an independent team, supervised and accompanied by the Inspectorate General team, and examined by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) team.

"All team members before carrying out their duties, all of them have signed an integrity pact. This means that we, the Directorate of Foreign Hajj Services, have no reason not to trust the team," Subhan was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 17.

According to his duties and functions, Subhan explained that his party has a mandate to provide three services for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, including accommodation, consumption, and transportation as long as the congregation is in Saudi Arabia.

The stages of implementing the provision, he continued, include announcements, registrations, document verification, technical verification, assessments, and negotiations.

Furthermore, said Subhan, the team will propose prospective providers of accommodation, consumption, transportation services to the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of the Hajj Affairs Office (KUH) in Jeddah, and then PPK follow up on the proposal by conducting contracts with prospective providers of accommodation, consumption, and transportation services.

"Well, it should also be noted that in the process of providing these services, this team is also accompanied by the Inspectorate General team. So from the supply process, the supervision process is carried out openly," he said.

In addition, Subhan revealed that every stage of service procurement is also carried out inspection and supervision by the Inspectorate General, as well as external supervisors by the BPK.

"Even if there is a misappropriation, it will be found easily by the supervisory teams," he said.
