The Army Chief Of Staff EMPHASIZED That The Neutrality Of The TNI-Polri During The Pilkada Should Not Be Doubted

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Maruli Simanjuntak emphasized that the neutrality of the TNI-Polri in the 2024 Pilkada which will be held in November should not be doubted. According to him, all the mechanisms and rules governing the neutrality of the TNI-Polri are running properly.

"There is no problem, everything has been prepared. We have supported the police, which is operated by the TNI Headquarters," said Maruli at the Raffles Hotel ballroom, South Jakarta, on Monday, September 16.

Maruli is also not worried about the potential for noise during the elections later, because he believes the public understands the general election process better thanks to the experience of various previous elections.

According to him, people's political literacy is getting more mature, so there is no reason to doubt their readiness to face the regional elections.

"We are ready. People are now repeatedly holding general elections, so they already understand what to do. I think hopefully there will be no problems," he continued.
