Menkumham: The Government Does Not Participate In The Internal Affairs Of The Kadin

JAKARTA - Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Supratman Andi Agtas said the government did not interfere with internal affairs that occurred in the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).

"If we are in the government, this is actually Kadin's internal business," said Supratman in Jakarta, Sunday, September 15.

Supratman said that in principle, the government only follows what has been stipulated in the Kadin Articles of Association / Bylaws (AD / ART).

This is related to the determination of Anindya Bakrie as Chairman of Kadin through the Extraordinary National Conference (Munaslub) which took place at the St Regis Hotel Jakarta, Saturday (14/9).

"The point is that the government in principle once again, we follow according to the rules, and this becomes the will of all the majority of regional, provincial and government Kadin administrators, in this case, will certainly follow the decisions made by friends at Kadin," he said.

Furthermore, Supratman said that Anindya Bakrie's official appointment as Chairman of Kadin was still waiting for the issuance of a Presidential Decree (Keppres).

"The rules are like that, but later all presidential decisions will be passed by the harmonization process at the Ministry," said Supratman.

Previously, Chairman of Kadin Arsyad Rasjid stated that the Munaslub who appointed Anindya Bakrie as general chairman was illegal for violating the rules and was rejected by 21 Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

"There is only one Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, namely the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry whose basis for its implementation is stipulated through Law 1 of 1987 concerning the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 18 of 2022. Therefore, all forms of activities of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including the implementation of the National Conference, must comply with the provisions of the Law and the mandate of the AD/ART," said Arsjad at the JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta, Sunday.

Arsjad also said that he had been trusted to serve as Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the period 2021-2026 as well as through legal processes and procedures and in accordance with the provisions of the organizational laws and regulations, namely being elected by acclamation based on a joint decision at the VIII National Conference of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry dated June 30, 2021, in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.
