JAKARTA - PT KAI Operational Area (Daop) 2 Bandung confirmed that the Commuter Line Walahar Ekonomi (KA 317) connection of Purwakarta-Cikarang was disrupted. The train reportedly fell in the Purwakarta area, Sunday, September 15 which resulted in a number of departure schedules experiencing delays.

"KA Walahar suffered a disruption because the generator train at the end of the series fell on the road plot between Purwakarta-Cibungur at 11.28 WIB. There was no major disturbance, but indeed there were several late train trips," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung Ayep Hanapi when confirmed by ANTARA in Bandung, Sunday.

Based on information received from KAI Daop 2 Bandung, KA which experienced delays, including KA 251 (Serayu) for Purwokerto was 33 minutes late, KA 143A-146 (Ciremai) for Bandung was 23 minutes late, KA 50A (Argo Parahyangan) for Jakarta was six minutes late, then KA 40A (Argo Parahyangan) for Jakarta was 10 minutes late.

"And KA 317 (CL Walahar) for Jakarta is 80 minutes late, because it was the train that experienced the disturbance and had stopped. KA itself can go through the area because there is still one path that can be used," he said.

On the Walahar train, Ayep explained that the passengers and crew survived, although the trip had been stopped for a moment to ensure conditions from the entire series.

The Commuter Line Walahar train itself then continued its journey to Cibungur Station by leaving the generator train on the road plot to be evacuated by the technical team PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung and PT KCI.

Ayep explained that PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung evacuated the series of plots of the road using the Rescue Train and Evacuation Team. Currently, the evacuation has ended since 15:37 WIB.

"We express our deepest apologies to all train customers due to this incident. The KAI Daop 2 and KCI Technical Teams have moved quickly to handle and evacuate the evacuation process to restore the route and ensure the safety of train travel in the future. Currently, the repair process continues with the hope that the track can return to normal as soon as possible," Ayep added.
