Anies Hasn't Provided Time To Meet, Ridwan Kamil: Maybe Still Busy

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Ridwan Kamil (RK) will claim to have exchanged messages with the former Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2017-2022 period Anies Baswedan.

RK and its prospective Deputy Governor candidate, Suswono, asked Anies to schedule a meeting between the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election candidate and the previous DKI Governor. However, RK admitted that Anies had not provided time.

"I've answered (the message) as a friendship, but it's not specific about the schedule for the meeting. Maybe it's still busy," said RK in Kebon Melati, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Sunday, September 15.

Not only Anies, RK admitted that he also communicated with other former DKI governors such as Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok). However, RK realized that Ahok could not side with his support because he was a PDIP cadre.

"The goal is not to ask for support. The first goal is friendship," said RK.

Sementara itu, sebelumnya RK-Suswono telah sowan ke mantan Gubernur DKI periode 1997-2007 Sutiyoso (Bang Yos), dan juga mantan Gubernur DKI Jakarta periode 2007-2012 Fauzi Bowo (Foke).

When meeting with the former governor, RK admitted that he and Suswono asked Bang Yos, Foke, Anies, and Ahok to share experiences when facing Jakarta problems.

"We are new people, we have a little knowledge in this area. Sharialy, we don't pretend to know. So we don't pretend to know, I come. Pak foke with his knowledge, Pak Sutiyoso with his advice, later Mr. Ahok, including Mr. Anies," he explained.

Previously, RK admitted that he had sent messages with two former Governors of DKI Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) and Anies Baswedan and was waiting for time to meet.

"We have sent messages to Mr. Ahok and Mr. Anies as well. We just need to match the time, the exact date is not yet there, we are thinking about it," said Ridwan at the PKS Central Jakarta Headquarters, Kemayoran, Saturday, September 14.
