TANGERANG - South Tangerang Police are still investigating the alleged extortion case experienced by the victim, MHS by claiming to be a member of the police.

It is known that the alleged extortion took place at BSD Square Jalan Captain Djojohadikusumo Serpong, South Tangerang (Tangsel) on Thursday, September 12, 12.30 WIB.

"Satreskrim is trying its best to identify and reveal the perpetrators," said Head of Public Relations of the South Tangerang Police, AKP Agil Sahril when confirmed, Sunday, September 15.

Agil also said that his party had checked CCTV at the scene and a number of witnesses. The goal is to reveal the identity of the perpetrator.

"While still conducting intensive examinations to collect clues, witnesses and evidence related to the incident," he said.

Previously, a man with the initials MHs was suspected of being the victim of extortion by a man with the mode of claiming to be a member of the police. One motorbike and two cell phones (cell phones) were taken by the perpetrator.

"One Beat motorbike, one Realme cellphone, one Oppo Reno 3 cellphone, the victim suffered a loss," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi.

Ade Ary said the incident began when the victim was about to sell his motorbike to the perpetrator, with an appointment at BSD Square Jalan Captain Djojohadikusumo Serpong, South Tangerang (Tangsel) on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at around 12.30 WIB. At that time, he continued, the perpetrator wore a police uniform in a meeting with the victim.

"At that time the victim wanted to sell his motorbike to the perpetrator. When he met him, the perpetrator said that the motorbike did not have complete vehicle documents," he said.

Ade Ary explained that at that time the perpetrator was carrying a motorbike and asked for two cellphones belonging to the victim, with the excuse of being used as evidence.

"Two cellphones belonging to the victim were taken, with the excuse of being evidence for further investigation," he explained.

Feeling that he had been deceived and blackmailed, the victim also reported the incident to the South Tangerang Police. "This case is handled by the South Tangerang Police," he said.
