Fake Gerindra website reported to Polda Metro Jaya

JAKARTA - Indo Digital Volunteer reported the profiteering of the name of the Greater Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) on a fake website called Gerindra.org to Polda Metro Jaya. This is because the profiteering of the name and uploading content on the website makes the public uneasy.

Indo Digital Volunteer chairman Anthony Leong said the Gerindra.org site was said to have violated Article 45 paragraph (3) and paragraph (4) and/or Article 51 of the ITE Law. Anthony also said that the report had been registered as a public complaint (dumas) at Polda Metro Jaya with number 0210 dated September 14, 2024.

"We reported to Polda Metro Jaya regarding the fake website Gerinda.org. This report is still dumas because it is still in its early stages by providing a clue to interested parties," said Anthony at Polda Metro Jaya, Saturday.

Anthony continued, this fake website was deliberately created using servers abroad.

"However, we believe that the perpetrators are Indonesian citizens (WNI)," he said.

On that occasion, he also explained that the official Gerindra Party website, namely Gerindra.id, so that the emergence of fake websites caused a stir and rowdy in the community.

Anthony continued that there are several parties who deliberately want to divide the relationship that has been harmonious at this time.

"Especially the relationship between Pak Jokowi and Pak Prabowo. We see that the content on the website is very worrying and restless," he explained.

Anthony also asked the police to thoroughly investigate the person behind the gerindra.org website. He assessed that the website was deliberately raised by irresponsible persons to divide harmonious relations.

"Adgrand design to divide and damage the harmonious relationship between Pak Jokowi and Pak Prabowo," he said.

With this report, Anthony hopes that the police can uncover and provide a deterrent effect.

"This has been processed and will be followed up and I hope to be an early warning for the whole community, in order to bring positive, educational, and informative content," he said.
