Police Investigate Corruption Case At The Kendari-Toronipa Triplek Gate

The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) Police intervened to investigate allegations of corruption in the construction of the Kendari-Toronipa Tourism Gate, which went viral on social media.

Director of Criminal Investigation at the Southeast Sulawesi Police, Kombes Bambang Wijanarko, said that his party through Sub-Directorate III of Corruption Crimes (Tipidkor) had conducted an investigation into the construction of the gate since Thursday (12/9).

"Sub-Directorate III of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Southeast Sulawesi Police since yesterday has started collecting data related to the construction of the Kendari-Toronipa tourist gate," said Bambang Wijanarko, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 13.

After collecting data conducted by investigators, his party will summon the parties related to the construction of the gate for questioning.

"God willing, starting next week (next week) will invite related parties to clarify," he said.

Bambang Wijanarko conveyed that the investigation was carried out as a form of response from the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police for the viral news related to the Kendari-Toronipa Tourism Gate which was complained by the public about the condition and development funds of Rp32 billion.

"So of course the basis of this investigation is the allegation of corruption in the process of building the Kendari tourist gate," he explained.

Dalam tahap penyelidikan, penyidik nantinya akan meminta audit investigasi kepada inspektorat untuk menilai apakah terdapat kerugian negara dalam pembangunan tersebut.

"This includes assessing the physical condition of the building, whether it is appropriate and equivalent to the budget disbursed," added Bambang Wijanarko.

As previously reported, the gate of the Kendari-Toronipa tourist road, which was recently viral due to damage, has now been repaired by patching several parts of the perforated pillar as a result of being damaged by irresponsible people.

The gate, which cost Rp32 billion in budget, was viral on various social media because it was thought to be made of full concrete, but it turned out that there was room in the pillars.
