Cancel Proposal To Be The Acting Governor Of DKI, PSI Wants Heru To Focus On Kaseptres

JAKARTA - Member of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, William Aditya Sarana, explained the reason why his faction canceled proposing Heru Budi Hartono to return to the position of Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.

PSI previously revealed that it would propose Heru's name so that his term of office could be extended until the inauguration of the Governor-Deputy Governor of DKI was selected as a result of the 2024 Pilkada.

However, in today's joint leadership meeting (rapimgab), PSI suddenly changed its proposal for one vote with a political party (parpol) at the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus.

William admitted that PSI realized that Heru Budi would better focus on holding one position as Head of the Presdien Secretariat (Kasetpres) ahead of the replacement of Joko Widodo's government to Prabowo Subianto.

"We want to give the highest appreciation to Pak Heru Budi who has worked very well. But we see that in order to maintain the transition of government, we see Pak Heru in the best position as Kasetpres," William said at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Friday, September 13.

At today's meeting, KIM Plus compactly proposed the names Teguh Setyabudi, Tomsi Tohir, and Akmal Malik.

Currently, Teguh Setyabudi is the Director General of Dukcapil of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Akmal Malik is the Acting Governor of East Kalimantan, and Tomsi Tohir is now Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"Similarly, we hope that our proposals can make Jakarta better," said William.

Based on the most voting results, Teguh Setyabudi, Akmal Malik, and Tomsi Tohir were named as 3 candidates for the DKI DPRD proposal.

The three names will be submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs which also has three names proposed. The proposal from the DPRD and the Ministry of Home Affairs was then submitted to President Jokowi to choose one of the names that became the new Acting Governor of DKI.
