Rano Karno's Value Can Boost Pramono Anung In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election, Guntur Soekarnoputra: The Important Thing Is Optimistic To Win

JAKARTA - President Soekarno's eldest son, Guntur Soekarnoputra is optimistic that the Jakarta Governor-Deputy Governor candidate promoted by PDIP, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, can win the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

So far, Pramono rarely gets public attention because his position as Cabinet Secretary only works behind the scenes to take care of President Joko Widodo's regent.

However, Guntur assessed that Rano's presence as a cawagub could boost the name of the candidate pair. This is because Rano, who is known as the soap opera actor "Si Doel Anak Sekolah" has a large mass base.

This was revealed by Guntur when receiving a visit from Rano Karno at his residence, Menteng area, South Jakarta.

"The one who can boost Pramono is Rano Karno. Because what is known in the mass base is you (Rano). So, he has a boosted job. The most powerful is boosting, Rano," said Guntur, Thursday, September 12.

Guntur asked Rano and Pramono to maintain and strengthen their supporting base during the Jakarta Pilkada contestation.

Guntur also hopes that Bang Doel, Rano's nickname, can go down to the grassroots to absorb aspirations that have not been accommodated so far. Because the Jakarta issue is considered very complex, so the input from the community is very important.

"Earlier, I told Dek Rano, the important thing is that he is currently optimistic. Optimistic, he will win. But, also don't be optimistic that he will win, after that fight. So, where is the most important fight? On the mass bases," explained Guntur.

"On top, whether we want to choose or not, it's up to you. But, we have to hold the mass base, we have to win the mass base, we have to really create a true national patriot who loves Bung Karno," he added.

Continuing, Rano admitted that he learned a lot from Guntur Soekarnoputra, especially in politics and state administration. So he needs to hear the input, in order to produce the right formula for the City of Jakarta.

"I have known him for a long time actually. But maybe in the context of this Pilkada, of course I ask for directions, because I really know that he is also a observer of Jakarta," concluded Rano.
