JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicators survey institute released a poll on the level of support for the prospective Governor-Vice Governor (cagub-cawagub) of West Java in the 2024 Pilkada.
The indicator maps the voter base in the 2024 presidential election with the prospective West Java cagub-cawagub. The majority of Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD voters in the 2024 presidential election actually chose Dedi Mulyadi-Erwan Setiawan who was promoted by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM).
The main researcher in the Political Indicator Hendro Prasetyo explained that Ganjar-Mahfud voters in West Java supported Dedi-Erwan at 72.7 percent.
Meanwhile, those who want to choose the Jeje Wiradinata-Ronal Surapradja pair, who are promoted by PDIP in the West Java gubernatorial election, are only 13.7 percent.
"Pak Jeje and Ronal, although supported by PDIP, have not been able to take much (support). Even though it's good, 13.7 percent," Hendro said in a virtual survey presentation, Thursday, September 12.
Then, the remaining Ganjar-Mahfud voter base that supports the Ahmad Syaikhu-Ilham Habibie pair is 3.5 percent, and those who choose Acep Adang Ruhiyat-Gitalis Dwi Natarna are 2.5 percent.
Furthermore, if you look at Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka's voter base, the majority supports Dedi-Erwan, which is 85.8 percent.
"This is easy to explain because Prabowo supports or is in the same party as Dedi Mulyadi, so it's easier here," said Hendro.
Meanwhile, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar's voter base supports Dedi-Erwan the most, by 50.9 percent. The second largest amount of support for Syaikhu-Ilham was 37.1 percent.
"If indeed this PKS is identified with Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar, then most of Anies and Muhaimin voters in West Java will go to Dedi Mulyadi and Erwan Setiawan," he explained.
